Upcoming: Craft Beer Walk 2015

November is here, which means there is little time left to enjoy strolling through our city due to the capricious weather that notoriously arises during this time. Before the sun and beautiful weather takes their leave of us for the winter, we at Made in Lowell have created the perfect opportunity for you to continue to explore your city, by hosting the second annual Craft Beer Walk on November 14 from 4-7.

Last year, we held this event at the charming little building, Mill No. 5, where we had food, live music, and about nine breweries sampling their beverages. The turnout was amazing. People couldn't wait for the next year - and neither could we. But we knew we wanted to make this year's bigger while at the same time showcasing more of what Lowell has to offer. "I really wanted to find a way to drive people into downtown and increase the foot traffic. A lot of retailers there struggle with...or it's tough for them because there isn't enough foot traffic. What we're doing will give businesses the opportunity to reach new people," states Tobias Marx, founder of Made in Lowell.

That being said, this year we have designed our Craft Beer Walk to trail along 19 different businesses on Merrimack, Central, Middle, and Market Street. Attendees will be able to walk into these participating businesses where they can sample from 48 different types of beers and discover the hidden treasures that lay in Lowell's local shops. Each business will be providing a little something special, if they choose to do so, whether it be sampling their food, providing a discount or a special sale, or teaching a workshop. Plus, you have the chance to meet and greet the people who brew the tasty drinks you're sampling, by heading over to Tremonte Pizzeria, Blue Shamrock, Thirsty First, Old Court, Wicked Irish, and Dudley's, during the Walk.

We are expected to have about 400 - 500 people parading along the streets of Lowell where live music from Hunter, alternative rock band, will carry through the air. Consider it a party, a celebration, a discovery, an appreciation of our local businesses here in Lowell.

Designated driver? No worries! We have plenty of non-alcoholic beverages for you to choose from as well and we encourage you to still join in on the fun.

We look forward to seeing all of our fellow Lowellians out there showing support for this great city we love.
